Week 6
We had lots of fun today trying out the imaginz gear. It is fantastic. Lots of working together. Lots of solving problems. Lots of checking and finding another way to solve the problem. Lots of thinking and asking each other questions and listening to ideas from our classmates. Many thanks to the Home and School for purchasing this for us

Week 4
Fantastic picnic.Great day wonderful kids.Jane has posted photos on facebook.
Lost at picnic Tommy Nations Hat It may have gone home in wrong bag. Also from Thursday his shorts. Also could have gone home in wrong bag.
The Home and School have just purchased the junior school a wonderful construction set called Imaginz. We will be unpacking it in discovery time. Looks great!
Homework A little each night will help the children race away in reading writing and maths.
When writing form all letters from the top. It is so hard to break the habit of starting from the bottom.
Help your child recognise the alphabet by sound.
Learn to write from memory 2 or 3 words from the humpty dumpty wall.
A little basic facts or number knowledge.
Reading their home reader.
And of course reading and discussing those favourite story books.
Seems heaps but a lot of activities can be turned into fun games.

Week 3
Wow! What a great start.The children in Room 8 are amazing.Their delight in reading books, especially the favourite ones from their book boxes.
What did you think about those wonderful published stories?
We are looking forward to the picnic. The children must bring back their permission slips as soon as possible as well as their sausage order.
Thanks for hearing the children's reading each night. Keep encouraging your child to point to the words as they read. Don't forget to fill in the reading log.
Watch out for the basic facts book and the word/class letter book.
